Engineering and configuration

Material, pressure class, end connection, seat system and type of actuation follow the customer's requirement and the agreed code.

From requirement to design

The starting point is the requirement profile of the plant: medium, temperature, pressure, nominal size and installation situation. Design, material and seat system of the ball valve follow from it.

Whether a body is cast or forged depends on nominal size, pressure class and quantity. Both manufacturing routes are available.

Configuration parameters
Medium Composition, solids content, corrosivity
Temperature Operating and design temperature, from cryogenic to hot
Pressure Operating and design pressure, required pressure class
Nominal size Nominal size (DN or NPS), full or reduced bore
End connection Flanged or other end connection, face-to-face length
Seat system soft-seated or metal-seated
Actuation Hand lever, gear operator with handwheel or other type of actuation
Code API, ASME or EN as agreed, required certificates

These details are sufficient for an initial configuration and a quotation.

Manufacturing

KRONEN VALVE develops and manufactures its ball valves in-house. Bodies in cast and forged steel are machined, assembled and tested for pressure and tightness before delivery.

We provide test and conformity documents in line with the API, ASME and EN requirements agreed for the order. Material test certificates to EN 10204 3.1 and pressure and leak test reports are part of every order.
